Towering 200 feet over Panama City Beach, the Top O' The Strip Observation Tower, located right on the beach and just across the street from Miracle Strip Amusement Park, gave visitors a panoramic view of the gulf, the Panhandle, and the beach. Opened in April, 1966, the tower stood until December 8, 1995 when, following deterioration in the seaside air and an encounter with Hurricane Opal, it was finally demolished. The Beach Tower Motel (Tower? What tower?) was later built on the site.
